C’est à la fois avec tristesse et gratitude pour sa longue vie que la famille de John Francis Brennan (Frank) annonce son décès le 27 mars 2026, à l’âge de 88 ans et 7 mois.
Frank est né dans le hameau de Semiwagan Ridge, au Nouveau-Brunswick et a grandi dans un autre petit village appelé Russellville. Il est venu à New Carlisle avec sa jeune famille à la fin de 1964 après avoir été transféré par Sobeys à Paspebiac. Au fil des années, il a occupé plusieurs emplois entre Bonaventure et Paspebiac avant de prendre sa retraite en 1992.
Papa était une personne très sociable et il aimait rendre visite à sa famille et à ses amis. Il avait toujours une blague ou une histoire drôle à raconter. Il aimait particulièrement conduire pour voir ce qui se passait, il a fait beaucoup de kilométrage sur sa voiture entre Bonaventure et Paspebiac au fil des ans. Il aimait jouer aux cartes, ses jeux préférés étaient le Cribbage, les Deuces et l’Auction 45. Quand il était à la maison, on le voyait regarder des matchs de hockey ou plus tard, The Price is Right et Family Feud faisaient partie du quotidien pour passer le temps. Frank était un membre de longue date de la Légion royale canadienne et a occupé le poste de président du coquelicot pendant de nombreuses années. Il a également fait du bénévolat pour le service d’incendie de New Carlisle.
Il a été précédé par son épouse bien-aimée Carmelle, ainsi que ses parents Jack et Kathleen et sa sœur Liz.
Papa laisse derrière lui son frère Joe et ses enfants Debbie (Doug), Donna, John (Sherry) et Gloria (Steven). Ses petits-enfants Alicia (Andrew) et Colin (Rachel) ainsi que sa arrière-petite-fille Madelyn.
La famille recevra vos condoléances à la Résidence funéraire de New Carlisle, le lundi 25 mai 2026 de 14h00 à 16 h et de 18 h à 20 h. La messe des funérailles aura lieu le mardi 26 mai à 11 h à l’église catholique de New Carlisle. Prenez note qu'il n’y aura pas de visites à l’église avant la messe.
La famille tient à remercier le Dr Basque et le personnel du CHSLD New Carlisle pour les soins reçus par papa au cours des trois derniers mois. Aussi, nous tenons à remercier ses voisins et amis qui ont pris soin de lui et étaient présents quand il avait besoin d’aide, surtout Etienne et Magella Blais.
Les services professionnels ont été confiés au Salon Funéraire Henri Thibodeau Inc., une filiale du réseau HG Division certifiée Distinction par la Corporation des thanatologues du Québec et par le Bureau de normalisation du Québec.

It is with both sadness and gratitude for his long life that the family of John Francis Brennan (Frank) announce his passing on March 27, 2026 at the age of 88 years and 7 months.
Frank was born in the hamlet of Semiwagan Ridge, New Brunswick and grew up in another small hamlet called Russellville. He came to New Carlisle with his young family in late 1964 having been transferred by Sobeys to Paspebiac. Over the years he had several jobs between Bonaventure and Paspebiac before retiring in 1992.
Dad was a very social person and he enjoyed visiting with family and friends, he always had a joke or a funny story to tell. He especially enjoyed driving around to see what was going on, he put a lot of mileage on his car driving between Bonaventure and Paspebiac over the years. He loved to play cards, his favorite games were Cribbage, Deuces and Auction 45. When he was home you would find him watching hockey or in later years The Price is Right and Family Feud were part of everyday to pass the time. Frank was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion and held the post of Poppy Chairman for many years, he also volunteered for the New Carlisle Fire Department.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Carmelle, as well as his parents Jack and Kathleen, and his sister Liz.
Dad leaves behind his brother Joe and his children Debbie (Doug), Donna, John (Sherry) and Gloria (Steven). His grandchildren Alicia (Andrew) and Colin (Rachel) as well as great-granddaughter Madelyn.
The family will receive condolences at the New Carlisle Funeral Home on Monday May 25, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday May 26 at 11:00 am at the Catholic Church in New Carlisle. There will be no visitation at the church before the funeral mass.
The family would like to thank Dr Basque and the staff at the CHSLD New Carlisle for the care Dad received for the last 3 months. As well, we would like to thank his neighbors and friends who looked out for him and were there whenever he needed a helping hand, especially Etienne and Magella Blais.
